My Biopod is making a loud buzzing noise. What do I do?

If you hear a loud noise but the living wall isn’t irrigating water – This means there isn’t enough water for the irrigation pump to work and you’ll need to fill the base of your Biopod with about 2″ of water. If you already have enough water in your Biopod but the living wall still isn’t working, it means your irrigation pump is air locked. Please check out this video to see how to prime your irrigation pump.

Do I need to do anything with the cables in the base of the Biopod before I start scaping?

When you set up your Biopod for the first time, you will see the following cables in the bottom of the tank.
Substrate Heating Cable – this is the blue cable you see spread out along the bottom of the tank. You do not need to move this cable. You can put your gravel/substrate of choice right on top for most scapes. If you are doing a dry desert or arid scape, this cable can be moved and placed above the false bottom to create a dryer environment. Please watch our desert scape video for additional instructions.

Substrate Heat Sensor
– this is the thin black cable with the metal end on it. This measures the ambient temperature in your substrate. This needs to remain above the false bottom to accurately measure the substrate temperature. When scaping your Biopod, you can place your gravel/substrate of choice on top of this sensor.

How do I connect the app to my Biopod using Wifi?

Check out our YouTube Videos and Setup Guides for help! (Links provided below)
Please note: Your Biopod requires a strong WiFi signal. We recommend a maximum distance of 10 meters between your Biopod and your router. Longer distances may cause interference and can result in poor connectivity or loss of functions. Please see our WiFi tips on our support page for more information on improving your network signal.

If you’ve followed all of the guides above, and still have trouble connecting your Biopod to your WiFi – the WiFi connectivity issues may be due to the following reasons:

Frequency of your local WiFi: Currently Biopod only supports a 2.4 Ghz frequency WiFi. This is because the 2.4 Ghz band is more reliable and farther reaching than a 5 Ghz WiFi frequency. Please check your router configuration to determine whether your WiFi frequency is set to 2.4 or 5 Ghz. As all routers are different, please refer to your router setup guide or your Internet Service Provider (ISP) on how to configure your router WiFi for a 2.4 Ghz frequency.

WiFi Security Encryption: Your router’s security key may be setup to be a WEP or WPA security type. We recommend using WPA2 or WPA-2PSK as these are the latest and most secure encryption protocols available. Please refer to your router setup guide or your Internet Service Provider (ISP) on how to configure your router for a WPA2 or WPA2-PSK security encryption key.

Firewall/Blocked Ports/Other settings: All routers are different, and some come with unique security features. If your router is old, if it was configured by a technician or your ISP, or if it is a special type of router: it may have been set up with some unconventional security features preventing Biopod from connecting to the WiFi. Please refer to your router setup guide or your Internet Service Provider (ISP) on how to configure your router for a WPA2 or WPA2-PSK security encryption key.
