How exactly does the water filter inside the Biopod work?

By September 25, 2017

Since the living wall is the active water filtration system, it only works as intended if it contains many plants. Specifically, it is a biological water filtration system. Water is recycled from the floor of the Biopod (in the case of the Aqua (AQUA 2) and the Grand, the water is recycled from the floor and the fish habitat (if you choose to have fish that is)) and pumped back up and down through the filter. The micro spaces and plant roots within the filter substrate uptake nutrients and deposits and incorporate them – essentially filtering and cleaning the water.
