Indoor gardening or pet care has never been so easy. Biopod is attracting the attention of tech lovers, and plant lovers, alike. It seems our main hurdle is making them fast enough.

So what is Biopod?

Biopod makes growing easy and is the next big wave for green thumbs. A synthesis of ecology and sustainability, Biopods are multi-use: they function as in door herb gardens, vegetable gardens, aquaponic chambers (that grow food with fish and fish waste), and perhaps most especially, luxury housing for your lizard or snake, that will truly make it feel at home. Biopods can be purchased in 14.2, 21, and 31.5 gallon tanks.

What sets Biopod apart from traditional aquariums and vivariums?

Biopod mimics a rain forest habitat by employing Aeroponics, which perfectly balances oxygen and carbon dioxide just as natural habitats are able to do. Also, it is a sleek development in eco-tech. Once you’ve got your herbs, vegetables, or pets all snug in your Biopod, you can regulate temperature, lighting, humidity, ventilation and “rain fall” via an App on your iPhone or Android. Enjoy what you see in your pod? If so, you can share a full 1080p view of your Biopod through an easy function within our mobile app.

Biopod is not just a viable asset to squamata-loving pet lovers, but to biophilic interior designers and the DIY gardening movement as well. In the wake of publications like Cradle 2 Cradle, Re-Making the Way We Make Things, and as nature continues to fuse with scientific innovation, interior designers, architects, and health enthusiasts are all working together to generate living spaces that are more ecologically fluent. Insert Biopod, “an app-controlled microhabitat that automatically regulates temperature, light, humidity, ventilation and rainfall.”

Company founder Jared Wolfe initially conceived Biopod to be a safe haven for endangered rain forest species, namely frogs, as its habitat mimics these particular conditions. He received his degree in Biology from the University of Calgary and has been studying endangered frogs and their habitats for twenty years now. Jared made Biopod “as a way to engage people of all walks of life for a common purpose – to collectively make a positive change in the world by simply enjoying what nature has to offer.” When you factor in the costs of habitat, lighting, heating, humidity control, and food, the self-regulated Biopod begins to look like a self-regulated Piggy-bank.

Health nut? You can grow your own wheat grass with little to no fuss, and enjoy that fresh vitality each morning. Conservationist? Do your part by adding healthy food and green art to your living space. As we explore market interest Biopod is excited to see where it is most welcomed. Our main mission is to further ecological preservation and spread awareness of endangered species.

Our upcoming world premier will take place at Interzoo in Nuremberg, Germany from May 26th-29th, 2016; booth #421 in Hall 4A. Send us a message if you are thinking of attending so we’ll be sure to look for you!
